Art is faces

Now for the expression!

EXPERIENCE FOR: KINDERGARTENS AND PRIMARY SCHOOLS
SUBJECTS: ART APPRECIATION, HISTORY, SCIENCE, INTERCULTURE

Through the face and its expressions we communicate an incredible amount of information that goes beyond simple words and verbal language. Non-verbal language includes gestures, our body position in space in relation to others and to objects, but the part of the body that best communicates the information we express (and what we do not want to express!) to others is our face. From a facial expression we can easily understand the current state of mind and the emotions of the person in front of us. By analysing a wide range of faces and portraits from the frescoes by Benozzo Gozzoli we see that each character says something about himself through his face.

My portrait

EXPERIENCE FOR: SECONDARY SCHOOLS
SUBJECTS: ART APPRECIATION, HISTORY, SCIENCE, INTERCULTURE

The practice of expressing ourselves through writing is widespread and important, but the biographical and autobiographical requirement can also be constructively addressed by images, since each portrait and self-portrait contains countless stories and countless information. There is not only one type of portrait, the physiognomic one, but infinite ways of depicting faces and often it is necessary to start from the destruction of the physiognomic portrait, to create an image that effectively resembles us.
