Don’t judge by appearances!

EXPERIENCE FOR: PRIMARY AND SECONDARY SCHOOLS
SUBJECTS: ART APPRECIATION, HISTORY, SCIENCE, GEOGRAPHY, INTERCULTURE

Fashion is born of human necessity only in part, in the interests of survival, moved by the need to cover ourselves with fabrics, leathers or materials specifically made for this purpose. Over time, dress has performed specific social functions to distinguish people’s social status and the materials used for clothing have radically changed. We will find out the names and the uses of the Renaissance garments depicted in Benozzo Gozzoli’s frescoes and, above all, how much importance was given to appearances at that time! At the end of the hunt we will choose a character to "dress up as" and we will interpret it as in the fifteenth century.
